John Wozniak
(lead singer, guitarist, songwriter, producer)
(Born on January 19th, 1971, St. Paul, MN)

Born to a developmental psychologist dad and a free spirited Bohemian mother, John started his fascination with music while growing up listening to artists like Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Simon, Van Morrison and many others to say the least. He learned how to play guitar at age 14 writing "Rebel Sodville" at age 15. John played in many local bands after moving to the Philadelphia area after his dad was offered a job at Bryn Mawr College.

Before all this, the whole story begins with John's times at the Minneapolis based grade school, Marcy Open, where he was picked on daily resulting in his turn against the norm so to speak and be more to himself. In 1990 when making the bedroom recorded Zog Bogbean, John wrote the song "From the Marcy Playground" based on these memories later naming the band after the school's playground.

Dylan Keefe
(Bassist)
(Born, April 11th, 1970 in Minneapolis, MN)

The talented, funny, quiet, shy guy of Marcy Playground who adds to the playground. Dylan also attended an Open Minneapolis school just as John did, the Harriet Open School, across town from John's. The two never met until 16 years later after both moving to NY and meeting through mutual friend Kurt Rosenwinkel (guitarist who appeared on the Shapeshifter album).

Before his days in Marcy, he attended the Berklee Music College of Boston with the old drummer Dan Rieser and became fast friends playing in various jazz projects together for many years.

Gonzalo Martinez De La Cotera
(Drummer, backing vocals)
(Born July 13, 1962, Miami, Fl)

Gonzalo, (Gonz), the son of Cuban Exiles, grew up in a household filled with (ironically) Rock and Roll. He began teaching himself to play drums at the age of 10. His natural talent won him many music awards through out his academic years and he was playing professionally by the age of 16. Gonz played with many great local Miami rock bands where he eventually got his first recording contract. Not too soon after, he moved to NYC where he began playing in a much more diverse music scene.

As fate would have it, He met Woz and Dylan while playing drums in an opening band for a Marcy Playground tour in the late 90's.
